A Visit to RC Attadale
On Wednesday 6th April President Elect Jenni Wilke, Membership Director Mick Rogers and Secretary Carolyn Prunster attended the RC of Attadale in the wonderful setting of the Swan Yacht Club as guest speakers. The topics for discussion were strategies for building membership, governance and public image.
Mick was the first to take the floor and went through the practices the RC of Karrinyup has put in place to attract new members. These strategies included signage and radio advertising as well as budgeting the funds required to carry this out. Also discussed was member retention and our new member mentor programme.
President elect Jenni then discussed our membership process development. This incorporated membership leads, inventory and induction checklist. In addition to this was the funding stream through our social enterprise the Stirling Farmers Market.
Lastly Carolyn (stepping in for President Peter in isolation) outlined a number of topics including our clearly documented governance practices. She stressed the importance of venue selection and event hosting to attract members. This flowed into RC Karrinyup succession planning, our Operational Plan and some of our past and future projects. She rounded off with discussing the significance of club public image.
The team then took questions from the RC Attadale members. A very pleasant evening was enjoyed by all and our thanks go to the RC of Attadale for the invitation, a fun night and for making us feel so very welcome. Read more in the RC Attadale bulletin.
