Congratulations to RYPEN Participants September 2025
Karrinyup Rotary's graduate from the 2025 Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) program, Mambwe Nsanje, introduced Zari Reed and Feli Villaro. The club sponsored Zari, and our Rotary Youth Exchange student Feli, to attend the recent Rotary Youth Program of Enrichment (RYPEN) weekend camp held in September 2025. Since his RYLA experience, Mambwe has become a RYPEN coordinator and is now giving back to the community.
RYPEN is a weekend camp for 14 to 17 year olds, with a focus on “Fun with a Purpose”. It is designed to develop skills around teamwork, communication, goal setting and problem solving. Participants are encouraged to push their boundaries and challenge themselves in a safe and supportive environment.
Zari and Feli shared their experience of the weekend, telling us they had learned trust, team building and responsibility, along with leadership skills. They were also led to think 'outside the box'.
The students enjoyed meeting other young leaders and making new friendships. In thanking the club, they spoke positively about their experience, saying that they had gained new skills to help them grow in confidence.
Mambwe presented Feli and Zari with their RYPEN completion certificates.
