Congratulations to RYPEN Participants 2026
Rotary Youth Program of Enrichment (RYPEN) is a weekend camp for 14 to 17-year-olds, with a focus on “Fun with a Purpose”. It is designed to develop skills around teamwork, communication, goal setting and problem-solving. Participants are encouraged to push their boundaries and challenge themselves in a safe and supportive environment.
RYPEN camps are usually held twice a year in May and September; however, as the May camp had to be cancelled, Karrinyup Rotary sponsored twice as many students to the September camp. All six students, Lana, Coco, Lexie, Joshua, Oliver and Ashley collaborated to share their experience in a presentation to thank the Karrinyup Rotarians for enabling them to participate. All agreed they had been pushed out of their comfort zone. Some mentioned they had grown in the areas of leadership, resilience, mateship, sportsmanship, public speaking, teamwork and communication.
All the students enjoyed meeting other young leaders, making new friendships outside of their usual circle and said they had grown in confidence.
