My Home Update 2021
It has been three years in the making and the committee is now coordinating with thirteen Rotary clubs and several other service clubs to bring together the 'My Home' project and Rotary’s pledge to make yhe house a home. So far $65,000 has been raised. $5000 was by a District grant with Osborne Park.
The furniture is ordered and Freedom gave Rotary a tremendous deal. We get a monthly update on the ever moving timeline.
The enthusiasm to be involved with something as evident base as a home for homeless women of 55 as been accepted by many as a great solution to Wa Perth and regions housing problems.
This project is all about collaboration. For the build we have Lotterywest and Minderoo. Businesses such as Kitchen Warehouse, Hisco, Hyatt and Freedom have helped secure items in kind or reduced prices. Three Schools from the Kalamunda area are supplying the pantry items. Zonta and Soroptimist are helping out with welcome baskets and bathroom items. The WA Quilters will be donating a double bed sized Quilt for each home.
Rotary cannot wait to see the build start. In the meantime, the committee is still looking for money to purchase four tanks to decrease the costs. So if anyone knows a business, please contact Kay.
It has been a pleasure dealing with the Rotary clubs both 9455 and 9465.
