Mens Life Expo 2021
Mens Talk completed a major weekend for Male Mental Health on 27 - 28 November, when they hosted the very first Mens Life Expo on Saturday and the annual Swim For Life at Scarborough Beach Pool on Sunday.
Mens Life Expo brought together up to thirty Exhibitors of Mens Life Products, Services and Support Groups. This event provided a great opportunity to learn and engage with all exhibitors, at the fantastic location of Perth's best beach Scarborough. Great conversations and Live Workshops around a range of topics including, how to cook the perfect BBQ, how to maintain your Beard and Moustache to an interactive Effective Breathing Workshop.
The next day, Swim For Life, now in its third year, took place at Scarborough Beach Pool. 44 swimmers participated to raise awareness around the Prevention of Male Suicide. Also this year an Aqua Fest was held at Scarborough Beach Pool with an Inflatable Obstacle Challenge, Rubber Duck Derby where a lucky patron won $500, Free Face Painting, DJ, Prizes and Giveaway, etc. A grand total of $36,000 was raised on the day.
Mens Talk will use the funds raised to host Mens Open Space forums, where all men can gather to share and have important conversations about their own wellbeing and host a monthly Mens Mental Health Positive Wellbeing Community Workshops throughout 2022.
Karrinyup Rotary was a very positive part of that outcome.
