Camp Quality Activity 2022
Camp Quality gives kids living with cancer the chance to be kids again, providing a support network and a range of non-medical support services for the children and their families. It aims to provide a better life for every child in Australia living with cancer. Camp Quality's programs support the whole family from diagnosis, through treatment to remission or bereavement.
RC Karrinyup has been a strong supporter of the program over many years. Along with our substantial donation this year, a team from Karrinyup Rotary provided support and assistance for 'Kids Only Time,' a Family Camp held recently in Guildford. Community Service committee member Ross Daniel organised the team of John Maker, Peter Durrant, Tess Gardner, Kay Durrant and Neville Pollard (seen with Ross below), to provide hands on support to the Camp Quality volunteers working with the thirty nine children at the camp.
Tessa Barbaro, Family Program Coordinator for Camp Quality, was most grateful for the club's valued and ongoing support as well as hands on assistance over the years. She later followed up the evening with a thank you letter to the club.
'We would like to thank-you all and especially the Rotary Team again for all your assistance during Saturday’s 'Kids Only Time' in the Swan Valley. Not to mention the very generous donation you have provided us with. We look forward to using your wonderful contribution to help our wonderful families throughout their cancer journeys.'
