Joint Rotary Foundation Alumni of WA and Karrinyup Rotary event with past Ambassadorial Scholar Margaret Pride speaking on 'Rotary and a Dangerous Weapon'.

Dr Margaret Pride OAM is an Australian choral director, who has just returned from living and working in the UK. She has a doctorate in choral music and conducting from USC in the United States, has been Senior Lecturer in Music and Director of Choral Studies at the University of Western Australia & Senior Lecturer at Edith Cowan University, was the co-founder of the National Youth Choir of Australia and national president of the Australian National Choral Association.

She has broad international experience both as a juror and choral conductor. Margaret has concertised and workshopped extensively in Australia, earning her a reputation for excellence and outstanding teaching skills. For over 25 years Margaret conducted the Perth Symphonic Chorus, Perth Baroque & Philharmonic Orchestras and Perth Collegium Musicum Choir.

In 2015 she received an Order of Australia Medal for her work in music. She is currently conductor of the Perth Chamber Singers and Choralis Australis and is scheduled to conduct Mozart’s Requiem in Carnegie Hall in May 2025.
