RC Karrinyup Visits Foodbank WA     

The Rotary Club of Karrinyup has had a long association with Foodbank WA since its inception in the early 1990’s and has provided support during that time.  At the invitation of CEO Greg Hebble late last year, our club visited Foodbank WA’s new expanded premises near Perth Airport recently and were absolutely astounded at the magnitude of service they provide.

New Freezer Gear for Foodbank WA     

At the end of March, our club enjoyed a vocational visit to the new Foodbank WA facility at Perth Airport.  We were so impressed with the work that the Board resolved to provide additional support for a specific need on top of our usual annual donation.  A Club team visited the facility again last week to road test the new freezer kits, which the Club donated

During November the Rotary Club of Karrinyup showcases Rotary's six areas of focus for promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water, saving mothers and children, supporting education, and growing local economies. At this time we make a significant contribution from the funds raised at the Stirling Farmers' Market to the Rotary Foundation.

The winner of the 2015 Rotary Club Karrinyup Osborne Park Hospital Nurse of the Year Award is Clinical Nurse Manager Patricia Morgan. This Award is highly regarded by the staff and promoted extensively by the Hospital.  Congratulations Patricia!

Prestigious Avenues of Service Citation to Karrinyup Rotarian     

At the Rotary Club of Karrinyup's recent birthday dinner, Rotary District 9455 Governor Angus expressed delight in introducing the Rotary International Avenues of Service Citation, which commends ongoing service by an individual Rotarian in all five areas of service. The citation, signed by RI President Gary C K Huang, was awarded to our immediate Past President Peter.

Paul Harris Fellow Honour to Kay     

At the annual Changeover Board Meeting, which was held recently at the home of Past President Peter, Peter's wife and longstanding Rotary Club of Karrinyup (District 9455) supporter, Kay, was presented with a long-overdue Paul Harris Fellow in recognition of her huge commitment to Rotary Youth Exchange.

RC Karrinyup Welcomes Honorary Member     

During the club's Australia Day celebrations, organiser Ross shared a brief history of Michael Ivulich's long involvement with the Rotary Club of Karrinyup. He then called upon President Carolyn, who presented Michael with Honorary Membership of our Club. Michael, who was completely taken by surprise, responded that he was indeed honoured.

New Oxy Viva Unit for Trigg Surf Club     

RC Karrinyup has recently funded a new Oxy Viva unit for the Trigg Island Surf Lifesaving Club, building on previous donations for rescue vehicles and equipment over the years and furthering the relationship between the two clubs.

Induction of President Heather     

President Carolyn called President Elect Heather to the podium, inducted her as the forty-second President of the Rotary Club of Karrinyup and handed over the chain of office.  President Heather thanked the club for the honour entrusted to her and introduced the Board of Directors for 2015-2016.

World Polio Day at SFM     

World Polio Day was commemorated throughout the world on 24th October.  Rotary Club of Karrinyup members decorated the Stirling Farmers’ Market with red balloons on 26th October to showcase the cause to End Polio Now.
