A Visit to Bicycles 4 Humanity

RC Karrinyup club members Nick and Ken are seen here on a recent visit to the Bicycles 4 Humanity workshop in Midvale. This came shortly after the nineteenth container of bikes arrived in northern Namibia.

B4H WA's 19th container of bikes to Africa, which left Fremantle in February, has cleared customs in Walvis Bay Namibia and set off on 8th April to deliver the bikes to Bicycle Empowerment Centre bike shops across northern Namibia. 406 bikes from this shipment will be shared between eight shops, including Mr Elephant in Swakopmund, Family Hope Services in Katatura (Windhoek), Otjiwarongo, Opuwo, Okalongo, Okatana, Thakmoas and Ongwendiva.

This shipment means that B4H WA has now sent 7,000 bikes to Africa, including 3,700 to Namibia, changing lives for many thousands of people in rural Africa. A bike can mean access to education, health care, fresh water, economic opportunity and community. Each container shipped to Africa requires volunteer effort and about $10k of funding.

As part of our International Service, RC Karrinyup has provided financial support to assist B4H achieve their impressive milestones. Read more about B4H.
