Gifts for Wheelchairs For Kids

Students at Churchlands SHS are engaged in community services projects. Recently the school donated to our community service team's SOS for items of winter clothing. The majority of collection was distributed to the needy in the City of Stirling.

Among donations received from the students and the school were beautiful knitted teddies and blankets. International Director Sandra delivered these to the delighted volunteers, who organise the toys and blankets to go with each wheelchair donated from RC Scarborough's Wheelchairs For Kids.

Wheelchairs for Kids is a volunteer-based not-for-profit organisation providing the gift of mobility to children in impoverished and under resourced communities both in Australia and around the globe. Along with a new wheelchair, each child receives a toy and knee rug. RC Karrinyup has long been an ongoing supporter of this wonderful project.

The volunteers were delighted with the gifts from the school and commented on how beautiful and well made the teddies were and how excited the kids receiving them would be.

Students and staff were invited to visit the workshop to see the wonderful work performed by all of the volunteers at Wangara Wheelchairs for Kids.
