RI Award to Peter

The Rotary International Vocational Service Leadership Award is given to Rotarians, who have used their occupation to make a significant  impact in the community, demonstrated integrity in their profession and in Rotary, and undertaken at least one of six activities outlined in the award guidelines. District Governors may nominate one candidate from their district each year.

At the RC Karrinyup Changeover dinner last week, Rotary District 9455 Governor Jerry surprised member Peter by presenting him with the prestigious Rotary International Vocational Service Leadership Award for 2015-2016. Peter was nominated by RC Karrinyup Vocational Service Director Nick.

Peter has applied his vocational management skills in the early conception, planning and promotion of the Kimberley Ear Bus Program. This program, conducted jointly with the Ear Bus Foundation WA and the Rotary Club of Karrinyup, is for the provision of a mobile audio clinic serving indigenous young children in the remote communities in the Kimberly region of Western Australia.  Peter continues his work in the planning and promotion of this program into the 2016/17 Rotary year.

Peter has also used his skills in successfully mentoring young people, particularly through the John Curtin Leadership Awards Program run jointly by Curtin University and Rotary District 9455.
