Honorary Membership to Peter Durrant
Peter Durrant joined the Rotary Club of Port Adelaide in 1993 whilst serving in the Royal Australian Navy in South Australia. Following a move to Western Australia, he found himself in the privileged role as Charter President of the Exmouth Rotary Club. That experience set him on a course to grow with Rotary and begin to understand the many aspects of this amazing international service organisation.
On moving to Perth, Peter joined the Rotary Club of Karrinyup in 2001 and soon became involved in many aspects of Rotary service both at club and district level. In 2015 he was the recipient of the prestigious Rotary International Avenues of Service Award.
Peter served as Karrinyup Rotary President for the first time in 2013-14, again 2021-2022 and most recently as Co-President, supporting Mick Rogers. Passionate about the Rotary Foundation, he has been the Club's Rotary Foundation Chair from 2014 until his recent retirement in June 2026. In addition, Peter has taken on numerous District roles over the years. He first received Paul Harris Fellow recognition in 2010 and has since received three sapphire pins.
With boundless energy, Peter has been at the forefront of several of the club's major projects over the years, including the Kimberley Earbus, the Zambia Water Project, and, more recently, the fiftieth-anniversary project, the Lake Gwelup Story Trail.
Karrinyup Rotary is proud to honour Peter for his years of service and wishes him well in his retirement, as he spends quality time with the grandchildren.
