Congratulations to RYPEN Participants May 2024
The Rotary Club of Karinyup recently hosted four visitors from the Edmund Rice Centre in Mirrabrooka.
Two young students Adam Yappo and Maya Yarran were nominated by our previous Youth Director Trish to attend the Rotary Youth Program of Enrichment (RYPEN) weekend camp held in May 2024. They were invited to attend our meeting along with two of the Youth Coordinators, Abdiwahab Hillow and Roya Manyang.
Although very nervous in addressing the Club, both students spoke positively about their experience and said that they had gained new skills, which were helping them in their roles as leaders at the Edmund Rice Centre.
Abdi was previously a Karrinyup Rotary participant in the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) and Rotary Leader Extension Advanced Program (RYLEAP) programs. He has certainly put this training into practice. Both he and Roya spoke to the Club describing their roles as Youth Coordinators at the Edmund Rice Centre.
